Kids change so much in your life.
My husband and I never really had plans for when we would have kids; we figured it would happen when it was supposed to happen. About three years after we were married, I found out that I was pregnant, and we were so excited. Fast forward seven years, and we have four little ones. I would never change how our life is now, but I have to admit it is quite different. We have to be very creative with dates now, and our children have basically ruined everything nice that we have ever owned. It is not that our children are more rough than others, they are simply children, and they accidently bump into things and break things all of the time. I have had to make some changes to what we allow in the house now as well. Our furnace is not really able to keep up with how large our house is, so we used to supplement with electric. We had about five electric space heaters scattered throughout our house for many years, and they honestly did a great job at keeping the house as warm as we wanted it do be. Unfortunately when our oldest daughter was about two years old, she touched one of the heaters and burnt two of her little fingers. It was not a serious burn, but it was to me because she was so little. I told my husband about it, and we decided that we would not use space heaters to supplement heat anymore. Our house is definitely colder in the winter months than before, but we just wear extra layers.
