I sort of feel about my heat pump as a bear.
This piece of Heating and A/C component stays basically in hibernation all Winter.
Then, like the bear, it slowly comes to life in the Springtime. In this region, there are mornings even in late May where some cooling comfort from the heat pump might be appropriate. But the heat pump isn’t entirely coming to life quite yet. That’s what’s happening now, however like a bear, the heat pump roars to life with its full energy for the Summer and into early Fall, however my buddy and I are now witnessing the roaring to life of lots of air conditioner bears around here. I walked to get the mail the other day and I could already hear a chorus of heat pumps singing the cooling song. I hate to confess it however one of those heat pumps was mine as well. I do my best to limit the amount of air conditioner in my home. For one, it’s a bit high-priced when you’re living on a narrow budget. And the more I lean on the cooling from the heat pump, the more overwhelming the heat feels outside. So I do my best to walk the line between comfort while I sleep and dealing with a higher thermostat setting while in the afternoon, then working from condo makes managing the thermostat setting a lot easier. I’ve tried to program the thermostat before without much luck. Being condo full time toiling from the central air conditioner is a crucial help when it comes to keeping the Heating and A/C costs lower through the hottest part of our year. I’m sure that when November rolls around, I’ll be pretty over all the heat. But I also know that the heat pump bear will wind down again before going off to hibernate for another Winter.
