The end of the workday doesn’t appear to be in sight today; it’s just one of those days.
But I know that if I keep steadily working, the task will eventually be completed without any further effort on my part.
When you have a lot of work to do and no time to do it, it’s best not to pass judgment on anything. This afternoon, I’ve decided to go with the flow and just watch the world go by as my work gets done. I find that if I stop thinking about it and just do it, the time goes by faster and it’s easier to complete. Tomorrow, I’ll be selling HEPA filters at work, but I can’t even begin to worry about that part of my responsibilities at the Heating and Air Conditioning Company just yet. Better results can be achieved by focusing solely on the task at hand, rather than daydreaming about the future or ruminating over the past. The HVAC system needs to be disinfected, so I’ll be calling in an expert from the HVAC company to help me out. I need a second opinion to verify that I am following protocol because it has been a while since I’ve done anything like this. When I’m finished, I’m going to grab some lunch with a friend who works in the cooling industry at a nearby establishment, then head back to my apartment for a power nap before getting ready for the Monday night ahead. As I reflect on the day’s work and look forward to a well-deserved break, I remind myself that staying present and focused on the task at hand is the key to achieving productivity and peace of mind.
