We rarely advertised our Heating, Ventilation and A/C business.
- We inherited it from our father, and we used his customer base.
When we noted that our customer database was advancing in age, we knew we had to come up with a plan on how we were going to start rebuilding it. Many of our customers had retired and were no longer residing in homes, but in retirement communities. Some of them had passed away, and others had moved out of the area. We got a few customers, but we weren’t recouping enough to cover what we were losing. We talked to online marketers and they started talking about PPC advertising. They proposed to do social media ads, Google ads, and to add extra pages and SEO to the website. We had no idea what they were talking about. We did searches on the web, but we didn’t know it was SEO that took us from our search to a website. We clicked on ads that Google verified, and we clicked on ads that took us to a website we clicked out of without perusal. They told us we were a product of online SEO. The online marketers said PPC was where you paid a particular amount if someone clicked on your ad and went to the Heating, Ventilation and A/C website or other website it was associated with, and using google ads was the same premise. However, you paid google to place your ads. They could place our Heating, Ventilation and A/C ads on social media sites, and the people would be directed to our Heating, Ventilation and A/C website. But regardless of what advertising means we used, we still needed SEO, which is keywords and phrases that attach our Heating, Ventilation and A/C website to those ads.
