As I’ve gotten older, I’ve had more trouble falling asleep at night, there are mornings when I lie awake for hours, however even if I manage to fall asleep, I might wake up after a n hour or so and then struggle to fall back asleep, i hate being wide awake in the middle of the night. I get bored and frustrated. In the morning, I feel sluggish and exhausted. I’ve researched and tried all sorts of weird methods to improve my sleep. I have a lavender spray for my pillow. I stay away from the cable and tablet screen. I don’t drink coffee. I’ve invested into a sound device and new pillows and sheets. Nothing helps, then after lying in bed for numerous hours with insomnia, I often get up and workout. I might exercise at three or four o’clock in the morning. I’m fortunate that I have a home gym that is separate from the rest of the house. I can blast my songs and run on the treadmill or jump rope without disrupting the rest of the family. I’ve found that I love tremendous workouts in the middle of the night. I have so much restless energy and am so angry at being awake, that I push myself harder. I know that exercise isn’t the ideal way to fall asleep, and once I’ve gotten my heart rate up and am drenched in sweat, I need a shower. I don’t feel fatigued at all… However, I feel accomplished. I also know that I can sleep in longer in the morning because I already completed my workout.
