As I’ve gotten older, I’ve had more trouble falling asleep at night, and there are days when I lie awake for hours, and even if I manage to fall asleep, I might wake up after a n hour or so & then struggle to fall back asleep, but i dislike being wide awake in the middle of the night.
I get bored & upset.
In the morning, I feel sluggish & fatigued. I’ve researched & tried all sorts of different methods to improve my sleep. I have a lavender spray for my pillow. I stay away from the television & laptop screen. I don’t drink coffee. I’ve invested into a sound equipment & up-to-date pillows & sheets! Nothing helps! After lying in bed for various hours with insomnia, I often get up & workout. I might exercise at three or four o’clock in the morning. I’m lucky that I have a condo gym that is without the rest of the house. I can blast my songs & run on the treadmill or jump rope without disrupting the rest of the family. I’ve found that I care about tremendous workouts in the middle of the night. I have so much restless energy & am so irritated at being awake, that I push myself harder. I know that exercise isn’t the ideal way to fall asleep, and once I’ve gotten my heart rate up & am drenched in sweat, I need a shower. I don’t feel fatigued at all, however, I feel accomplished. I also know that I can sleep in longer in the morning because I already completed my workout.
