I remember the old days, when I was young and carefree.
I ate whatever I wanted, and went days on end without doing my makeup or my hair. I didn’t need to, because I looked good already. I was foolish enough to think life would always be that way. Now that I am on the bad side of forty, I have a different perspective on life. I keep a picture of myself at age 21 taped to the side of my bathroom mirror, and every day I compare what I looked like then to what I look like now. It’s depressing, but it motivates me to keep up on my skin care, and go to the facial spa every week. As time marches on, I am accepting the fact that facials are not enough. If I want to recapture my young, vibrant looks I will need to dive beneath the surface and try some kind of regenerative injections. My doctor put me in touch with a local skincare specialist named Sadie, who has been patiently explaining all of the different options for regenerative injections. These include platelet rich plasma injections, which boost the natural healing power of the body itself. These sound very promising, as does the anti-aging IV drip therapy. If anything, there are too many choices and I feel a little overwhelmed. I have decided firmly against having botox injections, because getting poked with a toxin makes me nervous. Otherwise, I am open to trying several different kinds of regenerative injectables. I am trusting Sadie to help me make the right choices for my skin.
