I’m a stickler about my air quality and I typically have been.
- As someone who suffers from drastic seasonal dust sensitivities, it’s imperative that I maintain the quality of air in my home.
Now that I spend my afternoons working from home, I spend ninety percent of the afternoon inside my house. It’s more crucial than ever for me to purify my breathing air as best as possible. Several years ago, I invested in a top quality media air cleaner that was the best on the market. It was portable, which meant that I could transport it around my dwelling as needed and I feel it’s done an excellent task at keeping the air in my cabin clean. However, it wasn’t until recently that an Heating and A/C professional told me that I wasn’t doing a enjoyable task at replacing my air filters. According to him, two air filter substitutements a year were not enough. Instead, I needed to be taking the seasoned air filter out and replacing it with a wash one at least four times per year. This would be roughly every three to four months, which seemed excessive to me. The Heating and A/C professional was adamant that it needed to be done this often in order to experience the best air quality. Not only that, but a wash air filter was needed for my Heating and A/C system to run efficiently. Air filters are not just for a home’s air quality, but also for protection of the Heating and A/C system. I was shocked upon hearing this from the Heating and A/C professional, but I’m glad he told me.
