One afternoon, not too long ago, my hubby told me that in five years, when my pal and I both retire, he wants to move to the mountains plus live off the grid.
I actually did know he was joking however it turned out that he was serious.
My pal and I are both nature lovers, but I don’t know if I could comfortably live off the grid. I’m not too keen about building my own condo plus cooking over a fire plus I am kind of keen on my central heat plus air conditioning. My hubby assures me that I will not be expected to live separate from heating, ventilation plus A/C. Nor was I expected to help build the condo plus I will have a real stove. That’s when I started to wonder if he was planning on taking me with him. That’s when he encouraged me to do a little research on heat pumps, battery power plus solar power. There is a lot to learn! I confess that I don’t actually understand much of it, but I didn’t actually try that hard. I read enough to know that the power dealer isn’t the only way to get power. As long as I will have my heating, ventilation plus A/C I will be glad. And it seems that a heat pump can be run on solar power, plus there are even solar generators. So, it appears that I will have my heating, ventilation plus A/C. It will cost a lot of money up front however my pal and I will be eliminating an electric bill altogether. Now if I could just figure out how to get the internet out there….
