With more as well as more companies trying to streamline their systems, they should be worried about hackers gaining access to their networks… Over the years, so numerous security systems have been breached, which resulted in lots of people having their identities or personal credit card information stolen.
- Thankfully, I have never been a victim of this, but I have friends as well as families who were.
And it’s a large inconvenience to get current credit cards as well as switch all the automatic yearly payments that are connected to them, and hackers are getting smarter as well as smarter, as well as they are finding easier ways to hack into the systems of major companies. Some years ago, hackers were able to gain access to a major retailer’s system by hacking into their HVAC system. Once the hackers were able to gain access to the HVAC system, they used that as the gateway to tap into the main system of the company. I know at the time that no one thought this breach was possible. After all, it’s not every afternoon you hear about hackers using the HVAC system to get in the back door of a major retailer’s network. By now, there should be some safeguards in place to make sure that this doesn’t happen again. But with more as well as more companies becoming automated, having their networks, building as well as HVAC systems online, chances are, hackers will try to find a way to chop through. My problem is that if the hackers can chop into major retailers using their online HVAC systems, it means that they could potentially hack residential homes the same way. I don’t see this happening on a wide scale, but anything is possible in the age of automation that my friend and I are living in.
