It is very possible that people will get heat stroke at an outdoor wedding during that time of year.
I love weddings so much! Seeing people commit their lives to eachother because of their love is one of the most beautiful things you could ever witness. I love the dancing, the food, the drinks, getting dressed up, all of it! I recently got invited to a coworker’s wedding that will take place in August. I got super excited because this coworker is so fun so I figured her wedding would be amazing. I looked at the details a little closer and realized both the ceremony and reception are outdoors. The wedding is taking place in the southeastern region of the country. August has some of the highest temperatures and strongest humidity out of any other month. I immediately pictured myself all dressed up with my hair and makeup done, sweating, mascara running down my face, feeling miserable and sunburnt because of the lack of air conditioning. I looked at my husband and said “is it horrible if we decline a wedding because there is no air conditioning?” He said that it is not horrible, but it is smart. It is very possible that people will get heat stroke at an outdoor wedding during that time of year. I do not mind outdoor weddings, especially because my ceremony was outdoors but it was in December and it was a perfect non humid seventy degree day. Our reception was inside and I genuinely feel that outdoor receptions only work if it is not blazing hot and humid. I decided to respectfully decline due to the lack of air conditioning. I would rather not sacrifice my comfort to attend a wedding.
