Living way up north means using the heat almost year round. I grew up a few states south of where my husband and I live now. It was much warmer there, and we actually had a summer. Where we are living now, the summer only last for about a month and a half, and it is not nearly as warm as I am used to. My husband really enjoys being in a cooler climate, but I cannot say the same for myself. I do not mind it as long as I get to stay indoors, but when I have to travel or be outside for some reason, I do not like how chilly it always is. We literally have the heat on for about ten months out of the year. Having a good furnace is really important for us, so we bought a brand new one when we first moved into our house about seven years ago. We have not had any issues with it thus far. However, our thermostat started giving us trouble about two months ago. It was not adjusting the temperature as it should. We had it set to seventy-two degrees, but the house never felt very warm. We thought that there was something wrong with our furnace, but my husband figured out that it was not the furnace but the thermostat. We ended up having to get a new thermostat because ours eventually just quit working altogether. We had an HVAC company come and replace the thermostat for us, and we are so thankful that we did because it ended up being a little more complicated than what we thought it would be.
