I’m so happy to be back in town… Mostly, I’m happy to have my own autonomy back.
I’m happy to be able to jump in my vehicle and go wherever I want… And I’m seriously gleeful that I can adjust my indoor temperature control to whatever preferences suit me, but you see, I just recently spent a week at my mom’s house! For any adult who visits home, it’s quite an ordeal to be back in your family home.
It seems like taking a step back into time and losing all sense of responsibility. For me, that includes losing the ability to adjust the indoor air temperature. My mom is a important stickler about her temperature control! She only runs her heating and cooling systems when the extremes of each seasons set in. She does not want to waste energy and therefore money by powering the entire central heating or cooling system if it’s not ungodly warm or freezing outside, then when I was going to see, it was 85 Degrees. Apparently, in her world, that isn’twarm enough to justify operating of the indoor AC unit. The entire week while I was there it was uncomfortably warm and humid inside the house. She did not want to run the a/c and I did not want to sit around in absurd heat and humidity oh, so I figured there was one solution to the problem. When she was at labor one afternoon I called out the local Heating, Ventilation plus A/C supplier and ask them to substitute her Central AC component that actually afternoon. When she returned home, we had fresh and cool flowing air from the brand modern AC unit. She could not even complain about the change in her indoor temperature settings because I had purchased her the most energy-efficient a/c on the market.
