Last summer, I was not glad with the performance of the central a/c. The system seemed to run just about non stop plus yet couldn’t keep up with demands. The condo felt overheated plus sticky. There was also a significant temperature swing from one room to another, a musty odor plus fantastic deal of dust was originating from the supply vents. Whenever the a/c operated, I’d get a headache; Plus, my monthly electric bills were suddenly far more expensive. While the section experienced unusually overheated plus humid weather, I knew something was wrong with the a/c. I googled the problems plus determined that the concern was most likely with the HVAC duct. I found a local Heating plus Air Conditioning contractor that offers duct system services plus tied up testing. The contractor determined that nearly thirty percent of the conditioned air was escaping through small holes plus leaks at the seams, and because the HVAC duct is largely concealed inside walls plus ceilings, I wondered how the contractor would give sealing without causing a lot of harm. I learned that there is a process called Aeroseal duct sealing that repairs flaws in the ducts from the inside. The contractor plugged off the supply plus return vents before sending highly pressurized air into the pipes. The air carried polymer particles that are non-toxic yet adhesive. As the air leaked from the holes, those particles affixed to the edges plus steadily built up to form an airslim seal. The contractor then inspected the duct system to verify the success of the results. The whole process was completed within a couple of hours plus is warrantied for ten years.
