I recently upgraded my kitchen.
I had laminate counters and plywood cabinets.
The floors vs laminate and peeling up. The appliances were old and outdated. I also didn’t like how cramped the space was. I had no countertop around my stove, which is my main work station. I didn’t like that the sink wasn’t centered on the room. The dishwasher was stuffed in a corner. I played around with my kitchen design and figured out how to make it workable. I moved the stove over six inches to the left. My sink moved over 12 inches and so did my dishwasher. Since the stove hardly moved, none of the electrical work was tough. I just used flexible lines and drilled into the side of a cabinet. Easy fix. The plumbing was a bit more of a challenge. Yes, flexible hoses would have worked with the sink. I was mainly worried about the dishwasher and messing up my drainage. I am really glad that I just called in a plumber to do the job. The guy moved over my sink hot and cold water valves and the plumbing for the dishwasher. He even installed those fixtures for me. It was worth every penny not messing around with stretching from the existing spots. Now everything is done the right and professional way. My kitchen is so much better. My sink is centered on the room and the dishwasher is where it should have been to start with. The best is that I now have two feet of countertop on my right and a giant section on my left.
