We have a furnace that keeps us warm all winter, and an AC that we run from June
Finally, the birds were letting us know that the cold weather was almost gone. You’d think we’d be accustomed to snow and freezing temperatures by now, but it was still shocking. My partner and I grew up on an island where snow wasn’t a factor. We had to face monsoons and high heat, but not ice and freezing temperatures. So, this is why it still shocks us how cold it can get 8 years after we moved. He got an opportunity with his company to head a new office up north, and we jumped at it. This would mean I had to quit my job, but I also got to go back to school to finish my degree. Life has been good to us, and we even have a two year old girl. She loves the snow and is always the first one outside making snow angels. But, we tend to stay in areas where we feel warm and happy. Anyway, we are trying to acclimatize and hope one day we won’t worry when winter comes. We have learned that spring is the best time to do AC maintenance in our home. We purchased the cabin about 5 years ago, and it’s been the best place to live. We have a furnace that keeps us warm all winter, and an AC that we run from June. At times we take longer to turn on the AC since it’s not that hot, but having it is also a blessing. There is a HVAC company that serves our area, and they do a good job on spring maintenance.
