My hubby works in a car garage, as a service mechanic, and she comes home with a lot of stories to tell about the state some people’s cars are in, and one of my number ones has to be about a lady she once had as a customer who had brought her car in due to a rattling in the cooling system vents.
She had wanted to make sure something important hadn’t been knocked out of locale up in the dashboard region to make that noise whenever it came in. While I can’t recall the technical terms to what the issue had been, the problem was in the cooling system itself, and she explained it to the woman, but her response afterwards is what kills him and I with laughter. She thanked him for looking at her car and asked for the quote of what the inspection costed her, however my hubby, confused by the response, asked if she wanted to get it fixed. The lady replied saying of course she did, but that she wouldn’t expect him to be able to take care of something outside of her profession so she would take it to be looked at by her Heating and Air Conditioning serviceman instead. The lady thought than an Heating and Air Conditioning serviceman, someone who installs and repairs home cooling system and heating system, could repair the completely odd AC system in her car. My hubby said it took all of her willpower to calmly explain to her that they wouldn’t be able to help separate from bursting out in laughter. In the end she wasn’t sure if she completely understood why a car mechanic was the usual professional for the task but it ended being fixed and she went on her way.
